Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor
A Quality Laboratory Supervisor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory testing, inspections, and quality control activities meet strict regulatory, customer, and internal standards. This role bridges laboratory operations with manufacturing quality systems, ensuring products are safe, compliant, and consistent.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of laboratory technicians, managing schedules, providing upskilling training, and mentoring staff 
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, onboarding, new-hire training, and performance evaluations
  • Inspect and test raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with Customer products specifications
  • Ensure all laboratory testing is completed accurately and on schedule to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Document testing results and maintain accurate quality records; prepare reports for management
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Conduct audits and reviews of quality control processes to update lab procedures and policies, ensuring adherence to internal and external regulations
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers (OR Supply Chain Team) to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards
  • Improve standard work and resolve operational issues quickly within set parameters
  • Ensure adherence to FDA, ISO 22716 cosmetic, and other relevant standards
  • Oversee equipment calibration, method validation, maintenance of inspection and testing equipment for accuracy
  • Support root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
  • Work closely with production, engineering, R&D, QA teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and improve processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of QC or analytical laboratory experience in a cGMP-regulated environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA, ISO, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience in cosmetic, OTC drug, pharmaceutical, or personal care manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation (e.g., pH meter, Viscometer, FTIR) and method development/validation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.
Physical Requirements:
  • Fully on-site position, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working in the laboratory.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when handling laboratory equipment or materials.
  • Manual dexterity for operating laboratory instruments and handling samples.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.

Salary Range:

$75,000 – $85,000 annually
