Quality Control Analyst
Position Summary
The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for the preparation and analysis of raw materials, bulk products, finished products, and standards. This role supports laboratory testing activities by preparing samples, reagents, mobile phases, and solutions; performing routine analytical testing; interpreting results; and maintaining complete, accurate laboratory records in compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform all job duties and assignments safely, accurately, and within established timelines.
- Prepare mobile phases, reagents, solutions, and standard preparations required for laboratory testing.
- Prepare raw materials, bulk products, finished products, and standard solutions for analytical testing.
- Perform routine testing using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and other applicable analytical techniques.
- Prepare samples for analysis using appropriate methods, including extraction, filtration, dilution, and other sample-preparation techniques as required.
- Review and analyze chromatographic data, interpret test results, and prepare clear, accurate, and detailed reports documenting analytical findings.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with established quality control procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Research and Development, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to support product quality, investigations, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Participate in investigations involving out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), as needed.
- Maintain complete and current laboratory documentation, including test results, instrument maintenance records, calibration records, and inventory records.
- Assist with the development, validation, optimization, and improvement of laboratory methods, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Communicates analytical findings, issues, and priorities promptly and professionally to appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a quality control laboratory environment, with a focus on HPLC analysis.
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices, analytical laboratory procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to prepare and handle laboratory reagents, mobile phases, standards, and samples accurately.
- Experience reviewing chromatographic data and documenting analytical results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and laboratory data-management systems, as applicable.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, written communication, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position is primarily laboratory-based and may also require work in an office environment during regular business hours.
- Frequent use of laboratory equipment, computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to safely handle laboratory materials, reagents, samples, glassware, and related equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including laboratory coats, gloves, safety glasses, and other equipment as required.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds, including laboratory supplies, samples, files, binders, and office materials.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment that may include exposure to chemicals, solvents, odors, noise, and varying temperatures, with appropriate safety controls and PPE provided.
